One day, as we were going to the place of prayer, we met a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners a great deal of money by fortune-telling.... Acts 16:16
When we talk about this story (Acts 16:16-34), we often talk about the drama of Paul and Silas being locked in gaol and being miraculously rescued and the gaoler getting baptised. But what about the little girl who started this whole drama off? What's her deal? What do we make of her "spirit of discernment" and was Paul really "annoyed"?
We eat together at 7pm - bring your own dinner, or buy something from one of the many takeaway options on the street - and the “serious bit” begins at 8. We’re done by 9:15
