The death of Jesus is shocking enough without bringing God into it. Why did Jesus have to die? Was it some sort of divine child abuse?
Everyone has something worthwhile to say. Bring something to share which has made you laugh or cry or otherwise think about God over the last few weeks.
It has been a big year. Let’s round it off with a good old knees-up!

Advent is a strange time in the church’s year. On the one hand, it’s about preparing for Jesus, God-with-us, to suddenly enter the world. On the other it looks towards the fulfilment of God’s plans for the whole creation..

It’s a public holiday here in Melbourne, and the strong feeling of the community is that we would rather have a picnic than meet normally.
So, join us at All Nations Park in Northcote for a byo picnic. This being Melbourne, If the weather is bad, we will transfer to the hall.

What on earth are sacraments, and what do they have to do with the Good News?
Is the idea of “sin” hopelessly old-fashioned? Is there any point in trying to use the term when it mainly seems to refer to chocolate and lingerie in our culture? And what does “salvation” mean in the contemporary world of the “omnicrisis”?

Why does being a Christian apparently involve meeting with the same group of people every single week for the rest of your life? After all, your mixed gender netball team doesn’t assume you are committed for life. What, if anything does the church have to do with the good news?
